I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
